Reference photos do not have to be perfect, but some things that help are a) a well-lit subject, b) an upright head pose, c) little or no obstructions, and d) clarity (no pixelation or blurriness.) If you're deciding, feel free to run your options by me, and I'll be glad to give suggestions.

Payment is due when you approve your mockup and portrait timeframe. After payment is submitted, I will start on your artwork.

Framing is optional and comes at an additional cost. For those who would like me to handle framing, I will provide those options and quotes with your free mockup. Frame prices are dependent upon size, materials, stock, and glazing options (such as standard acrylic or museum glass.) Included in the portrait price: artwork is packaged with a standard mat and backing, wrapped in protective cellophane and ready to be framed. Please read your care instructions before handling – all pieces are sprayed with fixative but will still smudge if the surface is touched. When handling, treat your artwork like a wet painting. Never touch the soft pastels or apply additional fixative. This may cause permanent damage.If you choose to handle framing or reframing, I highly recommend:Using a framer who has experience with soft pastels and knows not to apply fixativeEnsuring there is a space between your artwork and the glazing, either using mats or spacersUsing archival and acid-free materials to protect your artworkInvesting in museum glass – in my opinion, this makes the biggest difference
